The Colloseum's seen better days.

If you after some good take away food there's a place called Pastifico near to the Spanish Steps the food tastes great and its quite cheap as well. Last year on my last night in Rome one of the locals recommended this place.

Otherwise head up to near where the Colosseum is and theres a few good bars/restaurants there.

Loads to see great city just don't hire a car and drive. Unless you have nerves of steel. If you have a death wish hire a scooter.

Ok kidknapped might have been strong.
Overly drunk, transported into Rome and checked in and dumped on a bed.
I've woken up with my tickets home, money, passport and phone so I might as well enjoy the day.
I'm just looking for some tips to enjoy an unexpected day in Rome.

Heres just some of the things you should visit:
Trevi fountains Pantheon Coliseum Piazza Navona - just to people watch.
Just walk around. Follow the signs and where the Americans are walking.

*itches beard*
Yeah 'kidnapped and dumped' in Rome, how does that happen unless the kidnappers all buy tickets as well, and how do you take a kidnap victim out of the country without alerting the authorities?
And most of all, if you woke up in another country, victim to a kidnapping - malicious or 'prank' - manage to work out where in Europe you are, would the first thing you do really b to check in on a West Ham website?
What bollocks. Delete this nonsense.

Great city Rome. Will be there myself tomorrow evening. Go and check out the Colosseum (really nice at night) but generally its a great city to just wander around, loads to see.

I'm pretty certain it looks like Rome. I just had to pay a city tax for Rome when leaving this hotel.
I've got a day to fill and I've never been here before.
